NORCAT Celebrates Five Successful Years in Timmins

NORCAT's Timmins office was previously located within Collège Boréal before expanding into a separate location
Timmins, ON. - NORCAT, a global leader in skilled labour training focused on developing and delivering programs, services, and resources that enhance productivity and safety in the global skilled labour industries, is proud to celebrate the five year anniversary of its Timmins, Ontario office location.

NORCAT Timmins opened in early 2014 to serve Timmins and surrounding communities. Led by Ken Stewart, a mining industry legend with over three decades of experience, the office was originally located within Collège Boréal, but given the exceptional growth of NORCAT’s business an expansion was necessary. In October 2018, NORCAT’s Timmins office moved to a larger, new location on McIntyre Road to better accommodate the team and client expectations.

Today, NORCAT Timmins proudly continues to grow and employs six full-time staff. At this location, a full range of services and programs are offered including Supervisor Common Core, Train-the-Trainer, Surface Miner Common Core, Basic Mill Process Operator, JHSC, Working at Heights, WAH Refresher, and more. The substantial growth is also attributed to additional offerings including human capital / training strategy advisory services and our capabilities to support clients beyond the Timmins and Northern Ontario markets – including Quebec, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

In 2018, NORCAT was awarded the De Beers Canada Indigenous Partnership Award at the 2018 NOVA Business Excellence Awards hosted by the Timmins Chamber of Commerce. Ken Stewart considers this honour to be the highlight of the past five years. "We were honoured to be recognized for this award, as it demonstrates our commitment to working with First Nations across Canada and exemplifies our dedication to developing meaningful partnerships to deliver on our mandate," says Stewart.

"A huge thank you must go to all those we have had the pleasure of working with over the last five years, along with every individual who has been part of the team and helped build and support NORCAT in and around Timmins," continues Stewart. "I look forward to the next five years and am truly excited to see what it will bring."
